"Bad Auditions by Bad Actors"

wwudrama to present comedy at five showings in February

""

Walla Walla University's drama program starts the winter quarter with five performances of “Bad Auditions by Bad Actors,” written by Ian McWethy. The play is a comedic take on how actors will go to extreme lengths to get what they are striving for.

The production is directed by Richard Wallace, communication instructor at WWU. He said, “Having come from the theater perspective, I like the ‘peeling back the curtain’ aspect of this play. Theater people will get a kick out of it because it's a comic take on what they have to go through every time they want to participate in a play. Non-theatre folk should like it because they'll be seeing actors go to extreme lengths to get what they want: a part.”

The cast includes Wallace and WWU students Elizabeth Blackwelder, Caidyn Boyd, Claire Bussell, Courtney Easterbrook, Emily Fry, Rika Hinshaw, Jaden Melashenko, Reagan Peterson, Toby Pitton, Paris Romero, and a local grade student.

Performances will be held on Feb. 24, 25, 29 and March 2 at 7 p.m. A matinee will be offered March 3 at 2 p.m. All showings are at the Donnie Rigby Stage, at 306 SW Fourth St., College Place.

Tickets cost $12 for general admission, and $10 for WWU faculty, students, staff, and senior citizens. Tickets are available at gp0218.com/drama
